I just did my last post for the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog, I have had to make the decision to quit the team to focus on other, equally fun, things in my life. Only so many hours in the day right ;o).

For my last offering I have used

Simply Sassy Thursday

Hi everyone, hope you're well! I had to swap Simply Sassy days with Maria Therese because I was teaching a workshop on Saturday and didn't have the energy left to make a card on Sunday...imagine that, must be getting old ;o). For today's card I've used

which is out of stock at the moment, but will no doubt be back soon! I have used only browns and a bit of red to colour on kraft and I'm fairly happy with the result :D. My apologies for the truly awful picture, but it's been fog, fog and more fog here the last few weeks (I've literally got my head in the clouds, walking on air, that kind of stuff ;o)) and it shows in the pictures!

Card Ingredients:

Stamp: Simply Sassy "Domestic Goddess"
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Maja Design design paper "Vintage Winter"
Embellishments: Zva Creative pearl swirls; Kars adhesive pearls; charm; Papertrey Ink ribbon

Simply Sassy Release Blog Hop!

It is time for another Simply Sassy Blog Hop, as today sees the release of a whole new set! Now, if you've come from the amazingly talented Elaine's blog then you're on the right track! If you haven't or if you're just joining us, please head to the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog to start the hop ;o)

I'm so excited to be able to introduce you to Book Club, isn't she the cutest nerd EVER!!! Now I knew this card was missing something, I just couldn't put my finger on what it was...until I put it up in my post just now and saw that I forgot to put the buttons on the flower centres :o(. I'll update it tomorrow for a more complete look ;o).

This image can be used for so many things, such as a gift card (for a book...or something ;o)), a back to school card, a door hanger for a studious little girl, a bookmark etc. etc.

I have used Maja Design papers, My Favorite Things Die-namics doily, flowers and leaves, the sentiment is by Stamping Bella, the pearls are from Kars and the background stamp is from Stempelglede. The Copic colours are: E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks, lips), E44, E43, E42, E41 (browns), R29 (red).

Okay, onto the important stuff: for this blog hop I get to give away the Simply Sassy stamp that I used on my card to one lucky winner! All you have to do to be in with a chance to win is:

Leave a comment at every stop on the blog hop, you have until 12.00 noon GMT (CET -1 hr) on Monday 21 November to do so!

I will pick a winner from all the comments and post the winner's name in my blog that evening, so be sure to check back then!

You can find Book Club over at Funky Kits, where they have an amazing deal for the release weekend: when you buy the whole set, which you can get at the usual amazing price of six for the price of five, you also get the limited edition stamp for free (this stamp will only be included in the set this weekend and will not be sold individually)! So that's seven stamps and you only pay for five, that's what I call getting into the Christmas spirit :D!

Next up on the blog hop is the fabulous Alina, so hop on over and see what amazing creation she has in store for you! Have a great Sassy day ;o)!

Simply Sassy Sunday

Helloooo! Hope you're having a fantabulous Sunday and you didn't forget to put your clocks back one hour, it's lovely having a whole extra hour of weekend isn't it :D! For my card today I have used the scrumptious

Sundae Service

I wasn't at all happy with the last card I made with this beauty, so she's been used for a retry ;o). Also, I got the new set in the other day and let me tell you: more scrumptiousness is on the way!!! So start saving them pennies, thank goodness Christmas is coming up right ;o)

I have used lots of die-cuts on this card and little else, as the busy paper combined with the die-cuts and the flowers make for a pretty full card I think. Also, I'm not one for "throwing" everything I have at a card and see what sticks, some people carry that off brilliantly but I'm not blessed with that talent ;o).

Card Ingredients:
Stamp:
Simply Sassy "Sundae Service"
Paper: Bazzill Basics and Elzybells Art Stamps cardstock; My Mind's Eye paper "Be Loved"
Embellishments: My Mind's Eye die-cut sheet; Kars adhesive pearls
Tools: Marianne Design frond; QuicKutz flowers
Copics:
E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks)
Y28, E53, E50 (hair)
BG15, BG13, BG11, BG10 (blues)
R29, R27 (reds)
R22, R21 (pinks)

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

And Another One...

It's Baby Boom Time at work, two more colleagues have just become proud first-time parents :D!

I've made this tin for the colleague who had a beautiful (and I do mean stunning!) little girl last week and last Saturday my other colleague gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl...that's going to be a bit more challenging, tin-wise ;o) so more on that at the weekend!

And this is not the last of it, another one of my colleagues is actually expecting her baby this week, her due date is Thursday...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh, I am so sick of these tins! Hope you still enjoy them though :D!

Tools: Tin; Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles and Scalloped Circles Large; EK Success Retro Flower punches; Fiskars border punch; Kars butterfly punch; QuicKutz alphabets Abigail and Snow Angel plus "baby" dies (inside booklet)

Right, that's all from me, off to watch Desperate Housewives and generally laze about ;o). Hope you have a great week, thanks for stopping by!

A Baby Boy!

Remember how I told you I have about a gazillion pregnant colleagues? Well, one of them gave birth to a baby boy last month and here's what I made!

A little booklet so all 50 of us could write a funny, helpful or just congratulatory message to the proud parents ;o)

Now, September promises an influx of these tins, as three more colleagues are due to give birth. One of them to twins, a boy and a girl...any suggestions on how I'm going to solve that? ;o)

Stamps:
Papertrey Ink sentiments
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Maja Design design paper

Because I am a little short on time these days I have combined my Simply Sassy card with the sketch from Pink Ink Sketch Challenges, which is a fantastic creation by Cherie :D! And because we all have to step out of our comfort zone every once in a while I've tried to emulate Maria Therese's style on this card :D.

Simply Sassy Sunday!

Hi there crafty chicks (and dudes!), I'm back :D! I've had such a busy week and I really wanted to craft, but was just sooooo exhausted when I got home of an evening that I just wanted to crash on the couch...how old am I right :-(

I made this label before (see THIS POST for pattern link) but yesterday, while tidying up the bombsite I call my craft room, I came across the pattern for these labels again and just had to make another ;o)

For today's creation I used the utterly adorable

Apple of My Eye

from the latest set of Simply Sassy goodness :D. I love this stamp (I know, I say that about all of them but I cannot tell a lie :-p) because it it so versatile, it can be used "just because", for get well cards, a welcome back or goodbye from school (apples=teacher's pet in my mind, weird isn't it) and for a lot more themes you care to think of :D!

Tag Ingredients:

Stamp: Simply Sassy "Apple of My Eye"
Paper: Elzybells Arts Stamps kraft cardstock; Pion design paper
Embellishments: Creative Cafe rub-on sentiment; Kars adhesive pearls; We R Memory Keepers eyelet; Rayher butterflies; staples; string; charm
Tools: Magnolia Doohickey fence; EK Success Retro Flower punches; Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eighteen; Ranger distress ink Weathered Wood; We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile

Simply Sassy Sunday!

Hi everyone, today I have made a flower-less card...I know right, I didn't think that was possible either ;o), but somehow or other flowers just didn't suit. So after a lot of trying I left them off, being somewhat gobsmacked at my own decision!

I got the design for this card from DoCrafts Creativity magazine, I love some of the ideas in there and there's always a free gift which, being a Dutch person, I really appreciate of course :-p. I am one for giving credit where it is due, I really don't like it when people rip off other people's ideas and pass them off as their own. Like when I opened a Dutch craft paper yesterday I saw some of the pages from my Simply Sassy Christmas Tale booklet had been taken almost "verbatim" (even the paper line and the stamps were the same!), and published under someone else's name as her work. It's just not on and it makes me sad...

Anyway, back to my flower-less card:

You can't see the sentiment because, well, I took the picture wrong, but it says "Girly You Rock", which I thought was very appropriate ;o). Isn't this little cutie so adorable! She can be used for so many kinds of cards too!

Card Ingredients:

Stamps:
Simply Sassy "
Lost in Music"; sentiment by Papertrey Ink
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock white; My Mind's Eye design paper Lime Twist: Life of the Party
Embellishments: Zva Creative pearl swirls; Kars adhesive pearls; string; charm
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle large
Copics:
E00, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks, lips)
Y28, E53, E50 (hair)
BG15, BG13, BG11 (turquoise bits)

Right, that's it from me for now, hope you have some lovely crafty time set aside for today, see you soon :D!

I have used only cardstock to make this card, kind of making me wonder why I have stacks and stacks of design papers in my craft room when this will do just as well...ah well, we like all things pretty don't we ;o). Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge Time

Hi all, hope you're having a lovely Friday, the weekend is here, yay!!! You know how I said my vacation would start today? Well, I was stressing so much at work yesterday trying to get everything done that I decided to go into work this morning to finish it off, rather than give myself high blood pressure and a few more grey hairs ;o). But this afternoon was pampering time: getting my hair done, shopping, all fun things to kick off my vacation!

Now, would you believe it's already time for the second Pink Ink Sketch Challenge, those two weeks have flown by! We had such lovely entries as well, a real joy to see the marvellous creations made with Jane's sketch :D! And now it's our Kellie's turn, she's also the sponsor of this challenge and if you've ever visited her online shop Tickled Pink Stamps then you know it's gonna be a great prize!

Here's my take on Kellie's sketch. I've made a card for my nephew, it was his birthday on Tuesday and of course he gets a handmade card, even though I do not like making cards for boys/men, as I'm not allowed to use flowers or lace or other pretty things ;o). I do tend to over-compensate with other stuff so...you might think it a bit strange...*lol*. I just don't have any embellishments for these kinds of cards...hmmm, that might just be an excuse to go shopping :D!

Card Ingredients:

Stamps: Digi from Spesch Stamps; sentiment from Papertrey Ink
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock kraft, white; My Mind's Eye "Stella and Rose: Hattie Collection"
Embellishments: BoBunny buttons; We R Memory Keepers eyelets; brads; string; scrapper's floss
Tools: Kars border punch; My Favorite Things Die-namics Banner Day
Copics:
E00, E51, E93, E21 (skin, cheeks)
E44, E43, E42, E41 (browns)
BG15, BG13, BG11, BG10 (blues)
W5, W3, W2, W1 (greys)

Okay, that's enough chattering from me, hope you have a lovely day and a great start to the weekend, see you tomorrow for the
Simply Sassy Release Blog Hop!

Thank You Beary Much!

Hi peeps, hope you're all doing great, I know I am! Just one more day of work and then...freedom! Well, at least until Tuesday week, *lol*. Not a long holiday but I'm really looking forward to it: a little trip to England (yay!), some R&R and of course some crafting :D!

I've finally made a card using one of the super-adorable Teddy Bo images, I love these and have tons of them, but have never gotten around to using one of them...I know right, naughty step for me ;o).

How cute is this little Teddy Bea! And she fits right in with the challenge over on the Teddy Bo Challenge Blog, which is Teddy Bea Only! Hope Teddy Bo won't get jealous ;o)

Card Ingredients:

Stamps: Teddy Bo digital stamp; My Favorite Things sentiment
Paper: Bazzill Basics cardstock kraft, white; Maja Design design paper "Life in the Country"
Embellishments: Rayher butterflies; Kars adhesive pearls; string
Tools: Martha Stewart picket fence punch; My Favorite Things Die-namics doily, tag die; EK Success Retro Flower punches; Marianne Design frond die
Copics:
E44, E43, E42, E41 (browns)
B95, B93, B91 (blues)

Well, that's all from me for now, wish me luck for tomorrow ;o) and thanks for stopping by, I'll be back on Friday (yes, I'll get the date right this time *lol*) with the new
Pink Ink Sketch Challenges sketch!

Simply Sassy Sunday: A Christmas Tale

Hi all, hope you're having a great weekend! The weather over here is so-so, and really lent itself to making a Christmas project :D. Hope you likey, sit back, relax and enjoy!

I've made a paperbag booklet today, using the wonderful Carisa's tutorial
(you can find that ->HERE<-)

The story you are about to read
Is about the Johnson sisters, a fun group indeed
Meet Britt, the oldest one who does all the shopping
From groceries to Christmas lights to the latest in mopping
(for mum!)

This year too she has some fabulous goodies
From dolls to CDs to fashionable hoodies
Now all she has to do is get them wrapped and hidden
She sticks them in dad's shed, even though it's forbidden
But her sisters are so nosy, they'll look everywhere
To get at the presents, but they won't be there...

Here's Audrey, who makes it her job to find out
Where the presents are hidden, and be in no doubt
That once she finds them she'll unwrap them with care
Because all this secrecy she really can't bear!

However, this year Britt has outdone herself
Audrey's checked every nook and cranny, closet and shelf
But nowhere are the presents to be found
Instead she keeps finding these notes all around
Wishing her a Joyous Christmas and Happy New Year
So she grumbles and mumbles to anyone who'll hear
"I would have those things if my presents were here!"

Little Mirte and daddy have gone tree hunting
They bring home a nice one and hang it with bunting
With baubles and tinsel and lots of fake snow
And of course fairy lights, from high to low

After all that tree-trimming Mirte takes a nap
And dreams of candy canes and sitting on Santa's lap
She can't wait to see what Santa will bring her this year
She's been a good girl, so there'll be no fear
Of getting books or hankies or mittens or socks
What Mirte really wants is the new Justin Bieber CD, it rocks!

This is Femke, who's been ready for Christmas for months
Started asking in August when Santa would come
Been wearing holly in her hair for weeks on end
And been wondering which presents Santa would send

A Barbie, a new swimsuit or maybe a book?
She would also like some cool clothes, a whole new look
Santa, please hurry, she thinks every day
Make my Christmas merry and gay!

Michelle has a secret present stashed away
It needs water and food and two walks a day
It's furry and naughty and chews all her stuff
Christmas can't come soon enough, thinks Michelle in a huff

Finally it's time, Christmas morning is here
The whole family up early, time for laughter and cheer
For presents and surprises and lots of fun
Look what Santa has brought Lisan!

A cute little puppy, sweet as can be
Lisan squeals with joy, happiness and glee
Her very own puppy, who would have thought
Santa's so sweet, she asked and he brought!
A Merry Christmas is had by all
And the little puppy's name? He's christened Snowball!
